Hi guys, this is been a while far from here. But since one of my goals for this year is sharing useful content, here I am.
Before we go, it’s necessary one clarification:
I’ve been using ServerPilot to manage my VPSs for many time and I love their product. So my most of my server maintenance tips will consider ServerPilot systems.
1) You need to log in as a root user:
2) You should type the following to log in as root on your MySQL database:
sudo -i myql
3) You should create an new user for the database you need to access, like this:
create user 'readuser'@'database' IDENTIFIED BY 'password';
4) Finally, you should give this user grant SELECT access, allowing to access remotely:
Grant SELECT on database.* to 'readuser'@'%' identified by 'password';
